About US
The Voter Protection AI + Disinformation Toolkit is a 501(c)3 effort by the Voter Protection Corps and the International Digital Accountability Council (IDAC) focused on tackling the disinformation that threatens our elections.
In today’s digital environment, artificial intelligence technologies and an abundance of voter data has made the production and dissemination of disinformation more efficient and more effective.
Simultaneously, platforms such as X, Meta, YouTube, and TikTok are scaling back their rules and regulations regarding misinformation and disinformation, choosing not to police the spread of deceptive content on their platforms. The White House, state legislatures, and state attorneys are taking steps in the right direction, but we currently lack wide-spread awareness of rapid-response strategies that can address disinformation in real time, strategies that will be crucial as November approaches.
With volunteers and staff deployed across nonprofits engaging with the public, we want to equip organizations and volunteers working in the voter protection sphere with practical and efficient tools to identify and respond to disinformation.
